I’ve recovered well from last weekend’s 10km triathlon run in Monaco. Now I’m looking forward to meeting Nicolas Cage who I gather will be a guest of Mercedes this weekend. – A lot of friends are coming, too, so I should be good off track and hopefully also ON track!

Monza è indubbiamente uno dei circuiti più belli del campionato, non solo per la velocità e i duelli che lo caratterizzano, ma anche per la passione e l’entusiasmo dei tifosi italiani, che amano profondamente questa gara. Il weekend di Monza crea sempre sensazioni speciali e mi piace molto correre su quella pista. Abbiamo fatto ottimi progressi dal difficoltoso inizio del weekend a Spa e siamo soddisfatti dei punti che abbiamo conquistato. Monza è un circuito completamente diverso, ma speriamo comunque che il weekend sia altrettanto positivo.

This was a difficult weekend as the car was just not fast enough. It was an interesting race though and finally the rain in the end helped me as I had a rain setup in the car. It was nice to overtake Kobayashi and Michael after the restart. Now im off to Ibiza!

Cela a été agréable de faire une petite pause, mais je serai content de reprendre la course le week-end prochain. Spa est sans conteste l’un de mes circuits favoris et aussi l’un des plus exigeants sur lesquels nous courons. Le tour est vraiment très rapide, avec quelques virages impressionnants, y compris celui de l’Eau rouge bien sûr, et c’est un endroit magnifique où piloter une F1. Le dernier Grand Prix, en Hongrie, a été difficile pour nous, mais je sais que tout le monde à l’usine a donné un sérieux coup de collier depuis la fermeture et nous espérons avoir un meilleur week-end à Spa.

Een korte pauze was prettig, maar ik zie ernaar uit om komend weekend weer te gaan racen. Spa is zonder twijfel een van mijn favoriete circuits. Het is een van de banen die ons de meeste uitdagingen bieden. Het is een zeer snel parcours met enkele fantastische bochten, waaronder uiteraard Eau Rouge. Het is gewoon een geweldig circuit voor een formule 1-wagen. De vorige race in Hongarije was lastig voor ons, maar ik weet zeker dat iedereen in de fabriek hard heeft gewerkt na de tijdelijke sluiting, en we hopen dat we komend weekend in Spa meer succes behalen.

The triathlon was a great experience. I got pushed under water at the start and breathed in a lot of water which wasn’t nice because I started coughing and it took quite some time to find a nice rhythm after that. Read the rest of this entry »

Budapest remek város, a légkör szinte vibrál az egész városban és a pályán is végig a versenyhétvégén, úgyhogy mindig örülök, amikor ide érkezünk. A Hungaroring azon pályák egyike, amelyek igazi technikai kihívást jelentenek, és öröm rajtuk vezetni. Mivel a pályán előzni nehéz, ezért nagyon fontos, hogy az időmérőn a lehető legjobb helyet érjük el. A jó szereplés az időmérőkön mostanában nem tartozott az erősségeink közé, ezért egész hétvégén keményen fogunk dolgozni a felkészülésen, hogy a lehető legjobb eséllyel vághassunk neki a versenynek. Tavaly sikerült Magyarországon jó eredményt elérnem, a negyedik helyen végeztem, idén is jó volna az élmezőnybe jutni.

It was not such a great weekend considering that i was convinced that i would be on the podium. Anyways now off to Provence for a few days of relaxing with family…

Im happy with third. Going to the right direction again. Just went to the barbecue of my team. It’s nice to meet all the families of all the people working here. Now off to London for a small celebration with friends…

Up and down birthday, the race was horrible due to some tyre problems. Good thing was the German Team destroyed the British at football … great match!!! And thanks to everybody for their greeting cards!
