Monza is absolutely one of the top race tracks in the world. Not only for the speed and the challenge but also for the passion and enthusiasm of the Italian fans who really love their racing. There is always a special feeling about the Monza weekend and I love racing there. We made a good recovery from a difficult start to the weekend in Spa and it was nice to come away with some points. Monza is a completely different type of track but we will hope for an equally good weekend there.

Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg both insisted they were perfectly happy with their Belgian Grand Prix performances after starting from well down the grid, and both downplayed the minor contact between the two of them on the track. Read more at Patronisef1.com

This was a difficult weekend as the car was just not fast enough. It was an interesting race though and finally the rain in the end helped me as I had a rain setup in the car. It was nice to overtake Kobayashi and Michael after the restart. Now im off to Ibiza!

My rain set-up finally worked out towards the end there and I made up two places on the re-start. Sixth place today is ok and it really is the most that we could have hoped for from this weekend. Michael and I had a couple of battles out there which was fun. We respect each other and you just have to be careful and it all worked out ok. It was a good recovery today but we really need to continue to try and improve our car to have a stronger end to the season.

It’s not been an ideal weekend so far and knowing that we have the five place gearbox penalty, we decided to go for more of a rain set-up as it would be our only chance in the race tomorrow. The car was generally lacking grip today but the main problem was that I had traffic on my fastest lap in Q2 with a driver staying in front of me on his in-lap for the last half of the lap. We’ll have to see what tomorrow brings but if it rains, then we are on the right set-up.

It’s been a difficult day for us as we have been trying to get our revised parts for the car to work. The weather conditions have complicated our programme and whilst we’ve tried a lot of different things, it’s been tough to get any consistent feedback. I’ve suffered with understeer all day and really struggled with the balance on the wet tyres. The inters were better and it’s difficult to say for the slicks really. I was quite far off with my car balance with the dry tyres so that didn’t help. So a tricky start to the weekend for us and we need to sit down overnight and try to solve the problems.

It’s been nice to have a short break but it will be good to start racing again next weekend. Spa is definitely up there as one of my favourite circuits and it’s one of the most challenging tracks that we race on. The lap is very high-speed with some great corners, including Eau Rouge of course, and it’s just a great place to drive a Formula One car. The last race in Hungary was difficult for us but I know that everyone at the factory has been working hard since the shutdown and we hope to have a better weekend in Spa.

The triathlon was a great experience. I got pushed under water at the start and breathed in a lot of water which wasn’t nice because I started coughing and it took quite some time to find a nice rhythm after that. The bike was the most fun. Although there was one steep small mountain which we had to pass over twice which was tough. The run was not fun because I suffered a lot. I had stitches and I hadn’t eaten enough carbohydrates so I was really struggling. But running was still my strongest discipline. I finished 44th out of a couple of hundred which was good for a first timer, and considering that I started training from zero in December. I look forward to competing more often in future. I recovered very quickly so it’s not a problem to combine it with racing.
